Audrey: Your father just offered me a job.
Nathan: What did you say?
Audrey: I said that I would think it over.
Nathan: Might be a good idea.
Audrey: Really? What makes you say that?
Nathan: February 1983. I was 7. I went sledding on that hill right over there. I crashed into a tree, but I felt fine so I ran back up the hill, ready to go again. Lisa Botkee took one look at me and threw up. I had blood all over my coat, my bones sticking out of my arm and I never felt a thing. It wasn't the only bad thing that happened that year. I don't remember a lot of it, just people whispering, kids pulled out of school.
Audrey: "The Troubles."
Nathan: A couple of years later I got better and stopped hearing about them.
Audrey: And you're afraid they're coming back?
Nathan: No. They are back. I'm afraid they won't go away this time.

I like this scene because Nathan feels free to talk to Audrey about the troubles. I guess it was when he thought he could really trust her. Besides, pancakes are mentioned again! :D
